Pool winners decided in women’s beach at Boqueron
BOQUERON, Cabo Rojo, July 25, 2010. – Mexico, Colombia, Puerto
Rico and Costa Rica finished at the top of their pools after
winning their last matches of the preliminary round.
In Pool A, Garcia/Candelas (MEX) defeated without complications,
Selmo/Carmona (DOM). “We play thinking of one game at a time,”
said Candelas.
In Pool B, siblings Andrea and Claudia Galindo (COL) had a
double win in their debut in the Games. They won over
Richards/Daley (JAM) and Dyette/Honore (TRI).
“We had two matches today, because my sister wasn’t able to
arrive on time” expressed Andrea. “We are happy to be first in
our pool and we hope to take this advantage and be in the semis”
she added.
Winners of Pool C, Santiago/Acevedo (PUR) are grateful for all
the spectators that have come to cheer them. The locals defeated
Soler/Molina of El Salvador, who defended themselves well.
“Now we have our mind on tomorrow’s game against Guatemala, but
our goal is to be in the finals” said Yarleen Santiago, “we must
be in control and execute well.”
Morales/Alfaro (CRC) is first in pool D by winning over Orellana/Ramirez
(GUA).
“We reached our first goal, being at the top in this round”
expressed Morales.
